Waiting on Wednesday: Soundless by Richelle Mead

“Waiting On” Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted at Breaking the Spine that spotlights upcoming releases that we’re eagerly anticipating.

This is my first attempt at this, PLUS I'm currently blogging from the Blogger mobile app, so bear with me for now as I work out a few potential kinks... Meanwhile, I would love to hear what books you guys are waiting on in the comments!

Release Date: November 15, 2015
Publisher: Razorbill

Synopsis (from Goodreads): From Richelle Mead, the #1 internationally bestselling author of Vampire Academy and Bloodlines, comes a breathtaking new fantasy steeped in Chinese folklore.

For as long as Fei can remember, there has been no sound in her village, where rocky terrain and frequent avalanches prevent residents from self-sustaining. Fei and her people are at the mercy of a zipline that carries food up the treacherous cliffs from Beiguo, a mysterious faraway kingdom.

When villagers begin to lose their sight, deliveries from the zipline shrink and many go hungry. Fei’s home, the people she loves, and her entire existence is plunged into crisis, under threat of darkness and starvation.

But soon Fei is awoken in the night by a searing noise, and sound becomes her weapon.

Richelle Mead takes readers on a triumphant journey from the peak of Fei’s jagged mountain village to the valley of Beiugo, where a startling truth and an unlikely romance will change her life forever...

I am beyond excited for this novel to come out, as I'm such a huge fan of Richelle's Vampire Academy and Bloodlines series. Her ease of world building and immediately lovable and relatable characters has kept me hooked for so long (not to mention Rose + Dmitri…). I've got my fingers crossed in the hopes of snagging a copy at YALLFest so that I can contentedly read it on the six hour car ride back home!
