Hello hello everyone! Today I'd like to share with you all about a book I'm so in love with right now. As I've been wrapping up my second year of college during the last few weeks and homestretch of finals, I read this book in the breaks I had among the chaos. I loved it so much, in fact, that I preordered it to my house back home and had my dad read it! The next day he called to tell me he was 15 chapters in and loving it.
A story about a warrior amid constant battle with a rival clan, among lies and secrecy, a blood feud that runs generations deep, and the importance of family, this book is sure to leave you racing page after page in anticipation of more.
Our heroine Eelyn reminded me a lot of one of my all-time favorite characters, Lagertha Lothbrok from the History Channel show Vikings. This book has intense battles, riveting action, dark secrets, and even a flair of forbidden love. Taking inspiration from the deep roots of Norse myth, Scandinavian culture, and the lush spirit of adventure this novel captures, I put together a playlist fit for a shieldmaiden.
