The One Where I Do The F.R.I.E.N.D.S. Book Tag!

7:27:00 PM

The lovely Mariam at Flying Through Fiction knows I have quite a soft spot for this show, arguably on of my all-time favorites, and as such she tagged me in this tag!

I remember when I was really young and the show was airing its final seasons, I would watch it with my mom on nights I couldn't sleep. Now that all ten seasons are on Netflix, I have an excuse to procrastinate binge watch on the weekends and my mom and I always love our little mini marathons. My favorite Friend is Monica, because I liken myself to her in so many ways. So without any further dallying, here's the FRIENDS book tag!!

"So No One Told You Life Was Gonna Be This Way" - A Book That Surprised You
(obligatory *clap clap clap clap*) The first book that comes to mind when I think of surprises is We Were Liars by E. Lockhart. The twist ending in this book was so utterly unexpected, it shook my world to pieces.

Chandler - A Book That Had You On The Floor Laughing
I don't read many comedic books, but the quick wit and humorous banter in Lady Midnight by Cassandra Clare was pretty great!

Monica - A Book That You Never Want to Be Damaged or Broken
My signed books will always hold sentimental value because of the experiences attached, but I think it's pretty safe to say this spot is tied with my Harry Potter books; which I collected as they were still coming out.

Joey - A Book You Want To Become a Movie
I think that The Darkest Minds by Alexandra Bracken would be absolutely thrilling to see on the big screen, especially with a good cast and excellent script adaptation. But I wouldn't be that happy if any part of it was changed in order to make it seem appealing to a larger audience, because more often than not that winds up messing up the story to no end.

Phoebe - A Book That Had Bad Reviews But You Loved
It hasn't necessarily gotten bad reviews, but the Miss Peregrine's series has gotten so many mixed reviews. I absolutely adore these books, and the movie looks like it is going to be just as awe-inspiring as the quirky and unique story.

Ross - A Book That You Can't Decide Whether You Love or Hate
I enjoyed reading Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas thoroughly, but its ending and love triangle truly makes me question whether I should continue the series or not.

Rachel - A Book That Had Major Character Development
Bouncing back to The Darkest Minds, I loved watching Ruby come into her own by the end of the first book.

Central Perk - A Book You Go To When You're Bored
If I'm bored or in a reading slump, the Mara Dyer books never fail to jolt me right out of it.

Gunther - A Book You Always Hear About But Never Buy
I constantly hear about The Lunar Chronicles and all the surrounding hype. But despite even having been gifted a copy of Cinder, I can't muster up the motivation to read it!

"Smelly Cat, Smelly Cat, What Are They Feeding You?" - A Book That Has A Nice Smell
My incredibly beat up copy of The Lightning Thief by Rick Riordan has that wonderful, comforting old book smell.

"How You Doin'?" - A Character That You Love
I could go on for DAYS about my endless love for the Darkling. OR NOAH SHAW, or even Dmitri Belikov. Or from a non-romantic standpoint, I've got a ton of love for Baghra and Genya from the Grisha books, and Mare from Red Queen.

"We Were On A Break" - A Book You DNF'ed For Some Reason
I started reading Passenger at the end of November and I hadn't made it past chapter 7 by the time the book hit shelves. I have no idea why, because I absolutely LOVE Alex Bracken's writing style, imagery, and whimsy in this story. I know I will pick it up again soon for sure.

Are you a big FRIENDS fan like myself? If so, I tag YOU in this tag and want to know who your favorite Friend is in the comments! Thanks again for the fun tag, Mariam!

  1. I keep hearing that Lady Midnight is really funny! I still need to read it, I don't know why I'm putting it off, I LOVE Cassie Clare books. The Darkest Minds would be an AWESOME movie. I can't wait to see it transformed on the big screen.
