Summer Hiatus: Where Have I Been?
11:20:00 AMHello everyone!
If you've been following my blog for a while, or even if you're relatively new here, hopefully you'll notice some changes! The biggest being my new theme and layout, a summer goal of mine to achieve. While I'm still trying to work out a few kinks, hopefully things are running smoothly and the new design is to your liking. I'm certainly over the moon about it, and it was no small feat to get it looking the way it does now. I spent the better part of a weekend tweaking and adjusting and designing, and I am nearly finished with it! Huge thanks to Cyra at Rattle The Pages for her helpful insight! All I have left to include are my social media widgets and a few other minor adjustments before I can proudly say that the new and improved A Book and a Cup of Coffee is fully launched.
On a similar note, I want to thank you all for helping me reach a whopping 700 Twitter (@lovedmetoruins) followers! What a huge milestone this is, and I appreciate every single person who either follows me or simply interacts with me on Twitter, because I love love loooove talking to everyone! And if you haven't yet, drop by and say hi!
Now for the elephant in the room... My extended absence. If you follow me on Twitter, you'll know that I've spent the last month and a half finishing up my senior year of high school, graduating, going through my college orientation, and a bunch of other things that just sucked up my time and demanded all my attention! That's no excuse, though, and I hope you all will forgive my blogging slump and bear with me as I get back into the swing of things. My summer has been off to a whirlwind start and my graduation from the school I called home for the last four years really took a toll on me, because I certainly never expected for it all to be over so soon! We all go through a blogging or reading slump from time to time, but lucky for you guys I have a handful of discussion posts, reviews, playlists, and a couple other goodies up my sleeve to keep you all entertained in the coming weeks. I've attended a Maggie Stiefvater event, I'm prepping for the upcoming ALAAC16 here in Orlando, and overall I'm ready to get back into the swing of things!
Once again, I apologize for my long bout of absence but hopefully you guys will understand why! So stick around and keep an eye on my homepage and my Twitter for some up and coming posts, I think you guys will really love these!

It's definitely understandable! Last February, I went on a hiatus as well to give way for my 3-month internship at a hotel to kick in. It's no fun being away from the community you love, but life happens. Right? Anyway, good luck on your college orientation, and congratulations for graduating! :)
ReplyDeleteThank you! Life certainly does happen and the key is finding a balance to it all (something I'm pretty sure even the best of us are still working out).
